Yannick Bastien was last seen on the evening of September 21st when he was taking his truck, red canoe and tent to Lake Minnewanka in the Banff Alberta area to go on a canoe trip. When he did not report to work on September 25th his family became worried. Police found his truck, canoe tent, backpack and shoes on the south shore of the lake but no sign of Yannick. There have been extensive searches all around the lake since he was reported missing. Searches have included ground, helicopters, boats, cadaver dogs, two sonar teams and two dive teams. Upwards of 50 hikers have volunteered in the searches. Both Lake Minnewanka and Two Jack Lake areas have been searched thus far. The official search has been called off but family and volunteers continue to search.
